WAUKESHA, Wis. - Senior Alex Manhardt closed out his career with Marian University men's basketball on a high note being named first team All-Conference. Manhardt (West Bend, Wis.) was a leader for the Sabres all season long in scoring and on the glass. The lone senior on the Sabre roster led the NACC in double-doubles with 11 and rebounds per game with 10.0, while also scoring 14.6 points per game. He was also one of the most efficient shooters in the conference ranking second in the conference with a 52.1-percent field goal percentage. Manhardt put his name in the record book in several places with the most notable being only the eighth Sabre in men's basketball history to reach 500 rebounds and 1,000 points in his career. In his career, he finished 17th 1,036 points, 17th in program history, 276 made free throws, fifth all-time, 580 rebounds, seventh all-time, and 89 blocks, tied for sixth in Marian history. His final season in a Sabre jersey saw him grab the fifth most rebounds in a single season with 230 and post the fifth highest rebounds per game average. He also became the first Sabre to be named the NACC Player of the Week since 2014 after registering his fourth double-double of the season in a win against Concordia Chicago. The West Bend, Wis. native shot 7-10 (.700) from the field in the win with a team-high 19 points and 10 rebounds. Manhardt also added two assists and a block in the victory that gave the Sabres an even conference ledger.
