Marian chipped away at the Eau Claire lead as they cut the Blugold lead to 2 with 11 minutes left to play in the first half. The Blugolds would go on an 8-0 run, however, with 9 minutes left to play and took a 44-27 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Blugold offense continued to roll as they extended the lead to as large as 27 midway through the half. Cold shooting and costly turnovers would be the downfall for the Sabres as they fell by a final score of 79-49.
