MILWAUKEE - Marian University men's basketball (6-16, 5-12 NACC) got out to a slow start and could never recover in an 80-57 road loss at MSOE.
MSOE jumped out of the gates fast with a 23-8 run that forced a Sabre timeout with 8:42 remaining in the first half. The Sabres were able to rally following the timeout and keep pace with the Raiders but were unable to cut into the early deficit and headed into the locker rooms trailing 40-23 at half. Junior Reggie Roemer started the scoring for the Sabres in the second half with a three-pointer and a layup, but the Raider offense was able to keep up with their first half pace. Marian would close out the game on an 8-2 run with five points coming from freshman Julian Lynch to build momentum into their next game. Marian had one of their best games of the season beyond the arc shooting 7-20 (.350) from three-point land. Roemer finished the game with a team-high 15 points, while junior Alex Manhardt had five rebounds, two assists and three blocks. Marian plays their final road game of the season when they travel to Edgewood Wednesday, Feb. 8 for a 7 p.m. tip. Comments are closed.
